Ingredients

  • 3 Oz orange juice
  • 3 Oz Blanco tequila
  • 2.25 Oz triple sec
  • 1.5 Oz lime juice
  • 1.5 Oz simple syrup
  • optional: orange slices

Instructions

  • Fill two margarita glasses with ice.
  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until well combined. Pour into each margarita glass.
  • Optional: Add one orange slice to the rim of each margarita.

Notes

Lime Juice: Use either fresh squeezed limes, or use bottled lime juice. Store bought lime juice should be 100% lime (usually in a glass bottle). The lime shaped or plastic bottles are typically NOT 100% lime juice, and the flavor is too bitter.
Tequila: Use your favorite tequila in this recipe. I recommend buying 100% Agave Tequila, like Espolon Tequila Blanco. Tequila is made from the blue agave plant. One of its requirements is that tequila must be made from at least 51% of the blue agave plant to be labeled Tequila. However, tequilas with less percentages of agave may contain more additives of other types of sugar in place of that agave.
Triple Sec OR Cointreau will work.
